About Region IX The Association is a not-for-profit membership organization established to address issues related to low-income families and to support and represent the interests of the Region IX Head Start programs. The Association is comprised of members, agencies and corporations from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and the Outer Pacific Trust Territories and Commonwealths. It is the largest geographical region in the United States and serves over 115,000 infants, toddlers, preschool children and families. The Region IX Head Start Association is operated exclusively for charitable, scientific, literary and educational purposes. In furtherance of these purposes the corporation will provide professional, statistical, and technical assistance to encourage and promote the development of children, youth, families and committees. Taking into consideration the complex changes that our communities constantly go through in the society in which we live, this Association shall evaluate and establish goals to meet those needs identified by the directors, staff, parents, and friends of the Head Start grantees and delegate agencies. |
